What is Stonewall Shabbat?
Join elech, Cincinnati’s Queer Jew-ish community, for a night of pride, tradition, gathering, and exploration. On Friday, June 30th, we’ll gather at the ish Garage in Northside as a community to celebrate the power of Stonewall and the Magic of Shabbat.
This event will feature a collaborative, inclusive, and musical Kabbalat Shabbat (welcoming Shabbat) service, immersive experiences throughout the ish Garage (art, self-care, campfire). Food and drinks will be available for purchase onsite!
We strive to create a welcoming and accessible community for Queer Jew-ish folx. We’re operating on a sliding scale pricing model. Please choose the option that feels right for you.
What is the Significance of Stonewall?
The epic moment in 1969 when LGBTQIA+ folks said, "Enough is enough!" and fought back during a series of protests and uprisings at the Stonewall Inn in New York City, kicking off the modern LGBTQIA+ rights movement.
What is Shabbat?
The sacred Jewish day of rest and spiritual rejuvenation, where we take a break from the hustle and bustle, hang out with family and friends, and recharge our batteries in the ultimate chill mode.
Is this event for me?
All are welcome to join us. elech celebrates Queer pride and belonging in the Jewish community. This includes folx who are Jew-ish, questioning, and are part of chosen families.
Thanks to our event partners: elech, ish, Reflect Cincy, Jewish Federation of Cincinnati
